Objective: Drive rapid recognition, build appreciation habits, and create a high-energy start to the day by encouraging quick, specific shout-outs among team members.
How to Play: Set a timer for 2 minutes. During that time, team members call out as many positive shout-outs as possible to coworkers. Each shout-out should be short, specific, and focused on a name plus the action or behavior being recognized.
Example format: “Alex for helping a member stay calm during a busy moment” or “Jordan for stepping in to support the front line without being asked.”
After each shout-out, the group responds together with a quick clap, cheer, or simple team response like “Nice job” or “Great work.”
The goal is speed, energy, and participation rather than long explanations. The facilitator keeps the pace moving and encourages everyone to contribute at least one shout-out if possible.
Optional Variations: You can extend the activity to 3–5 minutes for larger teams. You can also do themed rounds such as “customer/member service shout-outs,” “team support moments,” or “behind the scenes wins.”
Another option is to have different roles recognized each day, such as “who showed great service today,” “who solved a problem,” or “who helped a teammate succeed.”
Why It Works: This activity builds a strong recognition culture by making appreciation fast, easy, and frequent. It boosts morale, strengthens team connection, and reinforces the behaviors that support exceptional member and customer service.
