This branch promotion used a “Pirate’s Treasure” theme to attract attention, increase awareness of banking products, and engage both existing customers and non-customers within a high-traffic retail location. The campaign highlighted key offerings such as free checking accounts with interest earnings, convenient branch hours, and multiple locations.
The branch was transformed into a pirate-themed environment, featuring a creatively designed ship façade, treasure chests filled with gold coins, and decorative treasure maps placed throughout the space. These visual elements, created with minimal cost and community support, helped establish a fun and immersive experience for visitors.
Team members enhanced the theme by dressing as pirates on designated days, using costumes and props to create a lively and attention-grabbing presence. This approach helped draw customers into conversations and increased visibility for the branch within the retail setting.
Outreach efforts included staffing the front of the branch in themed attire to engage Walmart shoppers directly, increasing awareness of services and encouraging traffic into the branch. Additionally, children visiting the location were provided with pirate-themed coloring activities to further enhance the family-friendly experience.
The promotion successfully generated approximately 38 new accounts, with many new customers noting they were previously unaware of the full range of benefits offered. The creative theme and proactive engagement played a key role in driving both awareness and new business.
