Grocery Assistance for Blind Residents

Financial Institution: Illinois Educators Credit Union

A team of employees from Illinois Educators Credit Union recently spent the morning volunteering at a local assisted living facility serving blind residents, helping support their independence and daily needs. Employees loaded the credit union’s branded vehicle and traveled to the facility, where residents shared personalized grocery lists along with funds set aside for their shopping.

The team then visited Walmart to shop for groceries for 20 residents before returning to the facility to personally deliver each order. Along the way, employees also spent time visiting with residents, creating meaningful moments of conversation and connection.

The experience served as a powerful reminder of how small acts of service can make a meaningful impact within the community. Employees were grateful for the opportunity to support the residents while strengthening the credit union’s relationship with the facility and the people it serves.
