Service Credit Union’s Portsmouth and Pease branches supported The Chase Home by providing Walmart and Target gift cards to help local children prepare for the new school year.

The gift cards gave children and families the flexibility to purchase the school supplies, clothing and other essentials they needed most.

Ideas to Make It Your Own

• Partner with a local children’s home, foster care organization, school or family support agency.
• Provide gift cards to stores where families can purchase school supplies, clothing and other necessities.
• Invite employees and customers/members to contribute gift cards or monetary donations.
• Consider expanding the effort into a Back to School Drive with backpacks, notebooks and other requested supplies.
